Predicting the Second Half of the NFL Season for the Miami Dolphins

Coming off another disappointing loss in another prove it style game, the Dolphins still find themselves in full control of their destiny in the AFC East as no matter what happens during the bye week, Miami will enter week 11 first place in the AFC East. So since it is the bye week, why not have a little fun using PlayoffPredictors.com and see how the rest of the season could shake up for Miami.

Week 11 vs Los Vegas Raiders

The Raiders played an inspiring effort for new interim head coach Antonio Pierce in week 9 as they cruised to a 30-6 win over the New York Giants but in week 11 they head down to Miami to take on the Dolphins. Miami has advantages all over the field and SHOULD win this game. Miami is averaging 39 points per game at home and should be able to shut down the Raiders offense.

Record: 7-3

Week 12 @ New York Jets (Black Friday)

This to me is the game that will decide whether or not you are the division favorite or if you will be playing week 18 against Buffalo for the division. The Jets have the toughest defense you will face the rest of this season and Miami has not done well against these physical style defenses and playing on a short week concerns me. BUT I am going to predict a Dolphins win here. This Jets offense is horrible and if Miami's suddenly good defense can hold the Jets to 10 points I think Miami wins this game. I could easily see this team falling against this Jets team that just refuses to lose when it should but for now I think Miami wins this one.

Record: 8-3

Week 13 @ Washington Commanders

Another game Miami SHOULD win. Washington's offense has been explosive this season and Sam Howell has been fairly good as well. But Miami is the more talented team on both sides of the ball and Miami's pass rush should get after Sam Howell early and often.

Record: 9-3

Week 14 vs Tennessee Titans (MNF)

Hey look, another game Miami SHOULD win. You're at home, against a rookie QB and a horrible offensive line. Miami should cruise to a victory so long as you contain Derrick Henry and don't allow him to do Derrick Henry things.

Record: 10-3

Week 15 vs New York Jets

I think that no matter who wins the Black Friday game, I am picking Miami to win this game.

Record 11-3

Week 16 vs Dallas Cowboys

This is going to be an interesting game. Dallas' has the defense to get after Miami's offense by playing physical but the Cowboys offense has been so hit or miss. The passing game goes through Ceedee Lamb and Jake Ferguson but that's pretty much it. However, until Miami can prove to me that they can beat teams that play a physical style of defense I am going to pick against Miami.

Record: 11-4

Week 17 @ Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore might be the best team in the AFC to this point. I said this on Twitter/X over the weekend but Baltimore is what we all hope Miami is. At this moment I can't see Miami going on the road and beating the Ravens despite what they did in week 2 of last season.

Record: 11-5

Week 18 vs Buffalo Bills

There is a good chance that this game is for the division but we have to account for the fact that Buffalo already has 4 losses and still has to play @ Philadelphia, @ Kansas City, @ LA Chargers, and vs the Cowboys. Do I expect Buffalo to lose each of those games? No. But I think that this match up is so much more favorable at this very moment for the Dolphins. I am predicting that Miami wins their first big game of the season while also locking up the AFC East for the first time since 2008.

Record: 12-5

Here are the AFC standings after the regular season prediction

Miami would open the playoffs at home against the Chargers. Is this wishful thinking? It might be. This prediction would have Miami finish 6-2 over their last 8 games which is possible BUT if you can't find your offense on the road, look out because teams like the Jets on Black Friday could easily upset you and send you on the road Wild Card weekend.
