Fins Up or Fins Down? Recapping the Dolphins 20-13 VICTORY over the Raiders

Welcome back to CLUB DUB for the seventh time this season! It wasn't a pretty one but the Dolphins got it done when it mattered and moved to 7-3 on the season. So who balled out? Who needs to set up? Read and find out!

Fins Up - Jalen Ramsey

  • Duh. Jalen Ramsey is that dude and if you had any questions about if he was washed, looking at you Jets and Bills fans, turn on the tape of the last 3 games and you will see the best corner in all of football. Ramsey in 3 games has allowed 5 catches, intercepted 3 passes, and forced a fumble.
Fins Down - Turnovers
  • The Dolphins once again do the thing and turn the ball over to simple unforced errors. First Tua fumbles inside the Dolphins 35 on the scramble, next Julian Hill fumbles inside the Dolphins 25, then Miami opens the second half with an interception where Tua was trying to lead Waddle upfield against a 2-high shell when the ball should've gone towards the sideline. You can get away with these mistakes against teams like the Raiders but you need to get this cleaned up ASAP, especially with Friday's big game at MetLife.
Fins Up - Austin Jackson
  • Man we all knew that once Austin Jackson was drafted that he was going to turn into a stud right tackle who was never going to struggle or anything like that right! Right? Oops. Austin Jackson is absolutely balling this year and you can't not be happy for the guy after all the bashing he has gotten from the fan base and media alike. Maxx Crosby was credited with a sack on a Tua scramble but Austin Jackson kept him in check all day. We are getting to the point where I am trying to get a contract extension done ASAP because man is Austin Jackson balling out.
Fins Down - Julian Hill
  • The Dolphins really missed Durham Smythe yesterday. Julian Hill really struggled in the run game yesterday and had the costly fumble at the end of the first half. Hill has been an adequate player for the team but Miami is going to need more out of their tight ends going forward.
Fins Up - Jaelen Phillips
  • A healthy Jaelen Phillips is a problem for opposing offenses. Phillips had two sacks and one interception (thank you Christian Wilkins!) yesterday and recorded an additional 3 QB hits. With games against the Jets x2, Commanders, and Titans around the corner, look for Jaelen to continue to produce as he approaches his first 10 sack season.
Fins Down - Mike McDaniel
  • I thought this was Mike's worst called game of the season. The offense was just out of sync DESPITE putting up over 400 yards of offense. The 3rd and 4th and short situations have to get figured out because it is getting pretty ridiculous at this point.
Fins Down - Jason Sanders, Jake Bailey, Danny Crossman
  • Enough is enough man. Jason Sanders will never be what he was in 2020, Jake Bailey for every good punt he has, has at least 2 that are awful (see the 30 yard punt yesterday). Miami needs to blow the whole special teams unit up after this season outside of Blake Ferguson.
