Recapping the Dolphins 70-20 VICTORY over the Broncos

70 POINTS IN AN NFL FOOTBALL GAME EVERYBODY! WELCOME BACK TO CLUB DUB! The Miami Dolphins DESTROYED the Denver Broncos by a score of 70-20 in the teams home opener to move to 3-0 to start the season!

Original Prediction: Dolphins 30-20

Result: Dolphins 70-20 (lol)

Passing Game:

The Dolphins went into this game without Jaylen Waddle and all Tua Tagovailoa did was throw for 309 yards and 4 touchdowns on 23/26 passing (88%). Even Mike White got in on the fun throwing a 63 yard bomb to Robbie Chosen. During the pre-game we heard that Pat Surtain was going to be shadowing Tyreek Hill which ultimately led to Tyreek having 157 yards and a touchdown on 9 receptions. With how much Miami moves Tyreek around teams are going to struggle shadowing Tyreek and then when you do, good luck anyway. I think my favorite part of this passing game right now is the fact that, unlike last year, Miami has answers when Tyreek or Jaylen aren't in the game or are taken away. Raheem and Achane both contributed big plays in the passing game (including 3 touchdowns) and Berrios and Cracraft both were once again solid in finding holes in the defense. Miami should get Waddle back this week and at this rate, good luck slowing this group down.

Running Game:

Uh, the Dolphins can run the ball and there's no fluke. Teams don't run for 350 yards accidentally. It's past time that we owe this offensive line and Butch Barry some apologies because this line dominated the Denver Broncos. The return of Terron Armstead was welcomed with another 0 sack performance and a rushing attack that scored FIVE touchdowns on an average of 8.1 (HOW!) yards per carry. De'Von Achane had his breakout performance rushing for over 200 yards on just 18 carries and Raheem Mostert continues to play at a high level rushing for three touchdowns on just 13 carries to go along with his one receiving touchdown. If Miami can continue to play a balanced game (And no they are not going to throw for 376 and run for 350 each week) this offense is going to continue to be unstoppable. Also, shout out Chris Brooks for the run of the week! Glad to see him get some run this week after a strong pre-season.

The Defense:

I am not going to lie, I still have some slight concerns about this defense up to this point. The run defense continues to play much better after the week 1 debacle but this pass game continues to have missed assignments that lead to big plays. You aren't going to get away with that when you have teams like Buffalo, Philly, and KC on the horizon. Miami needs to clean that up asap. The pass rush only produced one sack (Emmanuel Ogbah is that you?!) but hit Russell Wilson 12 times, led by Christian Wilkins' 3 hits. Miami is going to need to finish their hits this week against Josh Allen but we will save that for our week 4 preview.

Up next:

The Dolphins (3-0) travel to Orchard Park to take on the Buffalo Bills (2-1) in a huge early season AFC East showdown! Our week 4 preview will be out later this week!
