Miami Dolphins Mock Drafts WITH TRADES

The NFL Draft is just two weeks away which means it is time for millions of mock drafts to flood the internet. Today we will be looking at what could happen if Miami is able to pull off a few trades to pick up extra picks. To complete this exercise we used the Draft Network's Mock Draft Machine and ran multiple simulations to see what kind of offers the Dolphins' could get.

*For this exercise we are going to assume that Emmanuel Ogbah and Cedric Wilson are NOT traded despite the fact that they could be during the draft.

2.51 TRADE*

- *Miami trades 2.51 to Kansas City for 2.64, 4.123, 6.219

2.64 Zach Charbonnet RB UCLA

3.84 Brenton Strange TE Penn State

4.126 Jay Ward SAF LSU

6.199 DJ Dale IDL Alabama

6.219 TJ Bass OG Oregon

7.240 Mekhi Garner CB LSU

Analysis: As I mentioned in my article discussion options for Miami at 51, I don't love the idea of Miami taking a running back at 51 unless it is Jahmyr Gibbs. However, that changes if Miami is able to move down and pick up some extra assets like they do in this scenario. Charbonnet at 64 is a much better value than at 51, you should read about Charbonnet here, and you pick up a 4th round pick, which turns into a safety that can develop into a potential starter in the future in Jay Ward, and a 6th round pick, which turns into a developmental guard in TJ Bass.

3.84 TRADE*

- *Miami trades 3.84 to Arizona for 4.106, 5.170, 6.187

2.51 Sam LaPorta TE Iowa

4.106 Tyler Steen OT Alabama

5.170 PJ Mustipher IDL Penn State

6.187 Eric Grey RB Oklahoma

6.199 Cameron Brown CB Ohio State

7.240 Chamarri Conner SAF Virginia Tech

Analysis: This move is a lot more dramatic as Miami would drop all the way out of the 3rd round but would allow them to pick up extra picks in the 5th and 6th to go along with the 4th rounder allowing Miami to make 6 picks. The highlight of this class is keeping 51 which allows you to draft Iowa tight end Sam LaPorta. Tyler Steen could come in and provide depth on the offensive line and POTENTIALLY compete with Austin Jackson. PJ Mustipher is a stout nose tackle who could play in the rotation and take a few snaps away from Raekwon Davis. Grey, Brown, and Conner would all be depth/developmental pieces at injury depleted positions from last season.
